In a few short words/sentences, tell us about your cats' personalities.
Lana is curious and adventurous. She does not like to be held but likes to be where the action is and spends most of her day wandering around and looking outside. Outdoors, she enjoys going for walks in the forest and smelling all the ferns and climbing trees. Indoors, she relieves her energy by walking on her cat wheel and playing fetch.
Louie is like a sour-patch-kid toward Lana. Sometimes he can be sweet to her and other times he is not so nice. Louie spends 90% of his day sleeping and is more of a cuddler. He will also go outside on a leash but only in the yard where he likes to eat grass and sunbathe.
How have your cats transformed your life from the moment you've met them till now?
Louie and Lana encourage me to stay active but also remind me of the importance to relax and enjoy being still.
What do your cats mean to you?
They bring me so much comfort, joy, and support. They are very attuned with me: If I don't feel well (i.e., headache or back pain) they will rub against me and lay by me - it makes me feel so loved!
How did you and your cats first meet? Tell it to us in the form of a short story.
Louie was the first cat I ever owned. He was 3 years old and my neighbour asked if I wanted him. He did a preliminary stay with me and I fell in love immediately. He was so lovable, I had to keep him. For Lana, we wanted a cat that would join us on adventures and have a little more energy. We read that Bengals are a breed with higher energy and we found Lana on Craigslist (a community buy/sell website). We picked her up at 2 months old and we started taking her outside at 4 months old.
What do you think your cats think of you?
For Lana, I am her entertainer. She follows me around and will meow at me if I am too boring for her!
For Louie, I am his source of safety and security. He seems to have some anxiety and will come to me with a shaking tail if he needs some support.
Your cats are part of your family. What are some things they do that make you think that they consider you part of theirs?
Louie is my shadow when I head to bed at night and wake up in the morning and Lana will greet me at the door when I come home and is always interactive (especially vocally!).

Why do you feel that it is important to show the world that Cats are Family?
I think a large part of the population believe that 'dogs are the family pet' and I want to advocate for our kitties and show the world what they are capable of.
