They are rescue cats.

In a few short words/sentences, tell us about your cats' personalities.

Saba is my adventurous girl but is also sweet and cuddly with a side of play hard. She has chinchilla-like fur. Nigel is my luxurious boy, he's very soft and has the longest whiskers, he likes a little outside time in our tent, but wants to be inside most of the time. Porter is my slightly grumpy older man. He's affectionate with people, very talkative, and loves his outside time, but only on his home turf.

How have your cats transformed your life from the moment you've met them till now?

They are their own unique personalities that are part of our lives in an essential way. Interacting with them is an essential part of every day, for us and for them.

What do your cats mean to you?

My life revolves around my cats, making sure they are loved, fulfilled and content.

How did you and your cats first meet? Tell it to us in the form of a short story.

All of my cats are rescues. All of my shelter visits were approached with the attitude of they pick you, not the other way around. Porter had 5 siblings, but he wouldn't let me pick up any one of them but him. He told me loudly that he was coming home with me.

Nigel was scared and looking a bit rough around the edges. When he looked at me I couldn't say no. I met Saba at the shelter when her foster family was adopting two of her littermates. I was talking about how I wanted an affectionate adventurer and they pointed right to her. I picked her up, and I just knew. Into her backpack and off to new adventures.

What do you think your cats think of you?

I'm their person. Dad is their emergency person.

Your cats are part of your family. What are some things they do that make you think that they consider you part of theirs?

Saba and Porter are waiting at the door when I get home from work every day. They give lots of purrs and snuggles every night, asking for rides on the backpack when we are adventuring, headbutts, and constantly converse in meows to communicate their wants and needs.

Why do you feel that it is important to show the world that Cats are Family?

I think it's important to work to change people's perceptions about cats being aloof, when they can, in fact, be extremely affectionate, life companions that enjoy going places and sharing experiences with you.
