In a few short words/sentences, tell us about your cats' personalities.

Coco is very agile and always on the go, she always follows us everywhere and is very inquisitive. She doesn’t really like to be patted that much but shows affection in her own way. She is a real sweetie!

Before I picked up Karl, Elizabeth from Silhouette Ragdolls said that I should have a go at training him and take him out and about, she could see I had a passion for the cats. From the moment I brought him home, I gave it a go. I took him out in his carrier regularly, to get him used to noises and also so he had a safe place. I always put a harness on him when he was in his carrier and when it was safe to do so, let him out with his lead. I gradually taught him different tricks( as well as harness training) using a favourite treat and he picked them up quickly. I also progressed to a cat pram when I went out as he was getting too heavy for the carrier. It is important for them to have a safe place to get into. Karl is super affectionate and loves a pat. I can’t wait to take him out for coffee and to the shops when we’re out of lockdown. I have lots of tips for the different stages of training and to make it fun. Coco and Karl are inside cats and don’t go outside unless they're supervised.

How have your cats transformed your life from the moment you've met them till now?

The ragdolls have made a real impact on us with their personalities. They really do interact so much with the family. I love that Karl loves to walk around the garden with me as I spend a lot of time outside on our property. They both also love to sit outside with me on the Verandah on a sunny day.

What do your cats mean to you?

My cats are part of the family and provide lots of entertainment, love and companionship.

How did you and your cats first meet? Tell it to us in the form of a short story.

As I adopted both Coco and Karl from breeders, that was the first time that I met them in person.

What do you think your cats think of you?

Definitely family members!

Your cats are part of your family. What are some things they do that make you think that they consider you part of theirs?

They always want to be around us. Coco claws at my bed every morning to get me out of bed, sometimes too early!

Why do you feel that it is important to show the world that Cats are Family?

Cats are such a wonderful pet and have been given a bad wrap for so long. They can be taught to do so many things and are actually extremely smart. Something that people take the wrong way as being aloof, the more time you put in the more you will get back. They are perfect companions for older people and young children alike and if in a working household will happily wait and sleep until you get home.
