What is the name of your cat?
Where is your cat family located in?
We are in Canada (currently Ontario, moving to British Columbia).
What is the breed of your cat?
We're pretty sure he is a Tabby cat, but we are waiting for a DNA kit from basepaws!
How old is your cat?
He is 2 years old.
Where can we find your cat on social media?
On Instagram @theoretically.teddy
In a few short words/sentences, tell us about your cat's personalities.
Teddy is a big foodie! He will do tricks for food and also eat whatever you leave laying around. He is a rambunctious cat but only when he's feeling confident! He also gets scared of random things like plastic bags.
How has your cat transformed your life from the moment you've met him till now?
People think that cat owners are homebodies or antisocial. But since getting teddy, I not only have been out much more while cat exploring, I've become more outgoing since people always ask me questions when they see us. I've learnt to be unapologetically myself with teddy and not care what people think! I also met so many amazing people on social media which I wouldn't have without Teddy!
What does your cat mean to you?
Teddy is my little monkey who keeps me in a routine and prevents me from getting into a slouchy mood. We sometimes annoy each other but at the end of the day, we know that we have each other no matter what!
How did you and your cat first meet? Tell it to us in the form of a short story.
I was looking for a kitten as a playmate for my friend's kitten. I went to see a few and Teddy was the 3rd or 4th kitten that I saw. The previous owner took him to a parking lot of a shopping mall and put him on top of her car. He just sat there looking terrified but he didn't try to run or hide, and I knew I didn't want a cat who hides all the time. So I took him home! I was so unprepared that I took him home in a cardboard box I had in the car. And once he got home, he was so curious and absolutely did not hide. He was sleeping on my bed on the first night!
What do you think your cat thinks of you?
Teddy thinks of me as someone he can rely on. He does not only go to me for a play or food, and whilst he spends most of his day in a separate room, at the end of the day, he will find me for comfort and snuggles. When we are out exploring, he is very independent wandering far and wide, but he always comes running when he thinks I've gone too far from him.
Your cat is part of your family. What are some things they do that make you think that she considers you part of theirs?
Teddy does not hate strangers but he doesn't like them either. He has a few favourite people in the world and I'm pretty sure I'm number 2. He will only sleep on my lap, and he will only let me hold him the longest.
What are some accounts your cats like to follow on Instagram?
@my.cat.got.talent and many more!
Why do you feel that it is important to show the world that Cats are Family?
The whole "crazy cat lady" stereotype is just annoying. It's not strange to have a strong bond with your cat. Cats aren't assholes and we aren't crazy for loving them. It's annoying that when someone loves their dogs, they're awesome, but when someone loves their cat, they're considered a crazy cat lady.
